Laser Therapy

Laser Therapy is a drug-free, surgery-free therapeutic option for your pet.

Laser therapy is a form of treatment that is drug-free and non-intrusive. This is used to treat inflammation or chronic pain and helps pets recovering from injury or surgery. At our hospital, it is performed by our expert veterinarians with the utmost care.

How does laser therapy work in pets?

We perform laser therapy the same way it is performed on humans. Light energy of different levels is aimed at different parts of the body. We usually use a midrange level that is comfortable for the pet and strong enough to encourage cell repair and growth. The changes in the cell encourage healing and other body processes. If your pet comes in for a session to treat skin issues or damage, we can lower the laser strength or increase it for bone and muscle repair. If you have any questions, our team is always available to answer them.

What conditions can laser therapy treat in pets?

Laser therapy is great for pets who are in recovery especially from surgery. Veterinarians sometimes recommend this therapy to heal the wound from surgery. Other conditions that can be treated with laser therapy are:

  1. Arthritis
  2. Hip dysplasia
  3. Kidney stones
  4. Hair loss
  5. Allergies
  6. Ligament, muscle and tendon injuries
  7. Cellulitis

Is laser therapy safe for my pet?

Absolutely! During each session the veterinarians and pets are protected from radiation. Only the area that needs treatment is exposed to the light. A session can last from 15 to 30 minutes so your furry friend will be in and out very quickly.
