What is Fear Free?

As veterinary professionals, we know that there is stress and anxiety associated with taking a pet to the veterinarian. Fear leads to trauma for our patients, and as a result, pet owners visit their veterinarian less often or not at all, instead opting to seek advice and products from other sources.

Fortunately, there is a solution, restore trust in veterinarians as the true pet health experts, and most importantly, reduce feelings of stress, resulting in a better experience for all involved, including pets, owners, and veterinary health care teams: Fear Free℠ veterinary visits.

Known as Fear Free℠, the training and certification program helps veterinarians modify their procedures, handling, and facilities to help pets feel safe and comfortable while receiving the medical care they need.

At Dog & Cat Hospital Ltd. we are committed to becoming a Fear Free℠ Certified Practice. To become certified, veterinarians and veterinary staff are required to complete a comprehensive, 8-part educational course and exam. They also have to take continuing education to remain certified.

Stay tuned as we become a part of the most important and transformative movement in the history of companion animal practice.
