Dr. Ryan Skinner
Veterinarian
Dr. Skinner was born and raised in Camrose, Alberta. His passion for animals started when his family moved to a farm and purchased a few horses, chickens, ducks and ostriches. After graduating high school in Camrose, he moved to Costa Rica with his family. He enrolled in Spanish classes in order to take his veterinary degree in a foreign language and immerse himself in their culture. He graduated from the University of Veritas in Costa Rica in 2004 and is fluent in Spanish. He met his wife there and moved back to Red Deer where he started his family and career in veterinary medicine. Dr. Skinner has three sons and 2 golden retrievers; Hunter and Piper.
Dr. Skinner worked and owned a practice in Red Deer for 12 years prior to selling it and joining the team at Dog and Cat Hospital. Despite his 15 years of active practice, he continues to enjoy all facets of preventative medicine with special interest in internal medicine and radiology.
In his spare time, Dr. Skinner enjoys spending time with family and travelling. He and his sons train in Martial Arts and currently hold black belts in Taekwondo. The active life allows him to indulge as well in his other passion of being a Foodie.
