Holly Altena

It was a childhood dream of mine to work with animals; after a couple of career changes I took the plunge to become an RVT and graduated from Olds College in 2019! I am enjoying working in general veterinary practice and am currently working on expanding my knowledge of emergency medicine and anesthesia. One of my favourite parts of my job is experiencing the human-animal bond; I love seeing pets reunite with their people after spending time in the clinic! I love working with shelter animals as well; it’s so rewarding to see them come back to see us in their forever homes. I currently live in Red Deer with my partner and our pets: two cats (Figaro & Stella), one dog (Dory) and one pleco (Leviathan), all of whom are rescue pets.
